Today we blaze a trail to Canon City, CO for a ride on the Royal Gorge Train. Journey through the amazing Royal Gorge. Since 1879, these tracks have followed the winding, tumbling Arkansas River deep within the soaring, 1,000-foot granite cliffs of Colorado’s Royal Gorge. The Royal Gorge Route is a quality attraction – no thrill rides or cotton candy – just beautiful rugged scenery. Enjoy a light early dinner on the train. After the train ride, we’ll travel to Alamosa, CO for a night’s stay.   (Breakfast/Dinner)

Monday, July 9
After breakfast, we head for our second train ride in Antonito, Colorado.  Climb aboard the Cumbres & Toltec National Historic Landmark for a 64-mile day trip you’ll never forget. The coal-fired steam engine carries you through steep mountain canyons, high desert, and lush meadows as you zig zag between the Colorado and New Mexico border. Open your eyes to spectacular and rare Western scenery which can only be viewed from this train’s unique route. During a stop in Osier, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. Our coach will meet us in Chama and take us to Taos, NM for the night.  We’ll check into the Sagebrush Inn for one night and dine together for this evening’s supper.  (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
